Last weekend we made a wee trip to the shore to forage seaweed.
To an extent it's more rewarding than foraging plants or mushrooms, as all flat inshore seaweeds are not toxic, and grow in abundance.
It takes some time to get used to telling them apart, but often the fair varieties and their false alternatives share the same qualities, like these carragheen and false carragheen:
