On opening the season
Last week I marvelled at the upcoming summer with first hints of summer cooking, aka gelato, but this week we actually got to open the BBQ season and if the weather pushes anywhere close to 20ºC I will start setting up an A/C unit in my study.

I suspect shashlik is one of those dishes that you can only perfect with age – I am definitely not there yet, but no matter how many books I ready and how thinly I slice onions, it nevers gets as good as I remember back in my childhood. I can't complain though!
