On different food
Last week, I was enjoying the Lake District, and this week I came down with some kind of flu (or cold, or COVID – we'll never know). However, during the brief period in between, Sasha took me out for lunch at Lyla – an important establishment in the Scottish food scene. It was opened by Stuart Ralston last year, his fourth and arguably most ambitious restaurant to date. Lyla is housed in the same halls where the late Kitchin's 21212 used to be, so Michelin stars are likely incoming.

It's always exciting to experience food through the lens of someone you're familiar with. We've been to Stuart's other three restaurants before and cooked from his cookbook as well, so some dishes had a familiar flair to them, albeit much more elevated.
